Our happy hens have been busy girls recently and it has been non stop! The vending machines have grown and grown in popularity and our free range eggs UK are loved by more and more people each day. However, we thought we would take a second to slow down and provide you all with an update of what’s been happening on the woodland farm and what is new for us here at Nith Valley Eggs.
SALSA Accreditation
Nith Valley Eggs has recently been awarded accreditation from SALSA. SALSA is the acronym for Safe and Local Supplier Approval. SALSA provide certification for the food safety of small and micro businesses across the UK. Achieving accreditation by this national body emphasises and shows recognition for the fantastic quality of our free range eggs UK wide!
New Hens!
Nith Valley Eggs has recently had an influx of 2300 new hens! These new younger hens will begin laying soon, they are just spending some time readjusting to their new (and very big!) woodland home. However as we say hello to new happy hens, that normally means we have had to say goodbye to some of our other feathered friends. As our hens get older we let them retire. Homes4hens is a charity that we work in conjunction with to find new homes for our hens when they can’t lay anymore. The hens are adopted and live peaceful lives in homes across the UK.
The Egg Revolution
Our free range eggs are taking Dumfries and Galloway by storm. More and more business across the region are joining the egg revolution and saying no to caged hens. The vending machines were the first step in the bid to take over Dumfries, spreading the word about the eggcellent quality of Nith Valley eggs and they have been very popular!
Going forward from now we simply plan on continually providing you with the best quality free range eggs UK that we possibly can! Our happy hens are hard at work keeping our vending machines fully stocked! Have a look at our website to find the exact locations of our vending machines.
